It looks like anti-TNF is my next step and I notice some blog comments about some of you having to wait 6 months for funding?

So my question is, how long did you have to wait?

Mine came through very quickly - about six weeks from start to finish.

My PCT (primary care trust) was no issue with funding.
Just waited for knee replacement to be done (had 9 weeks ago)
And wound to be healed!

HAD MY FIRST ANTI TNF THIS MORNING !LOL

hi Paul,

unfortunately my funding did take a good 6 months,

it wasn't for the lack of trying from my Rheumatology Department either, my Rheumy Nurse was onto the PCT every couple of weeks.

but i think i was just unlucky and most people get their's quite quickly as other's have already said.

Hi Paul

I waited 2 months for anti-tnf, that was back in 2005. It seems to vary where you live in the country.

Best of luck, hope you don't have to wait too long.

Best wishes

Hi Paul
I waiting about 3 months but that was because they had to record 2 DAS scores one month apart.. and healthcare at home was very slow getting the stuff delivered. There were no funding issues at my hospital- but you did have to meet the NICE criteria.

Hi Paul,
mine was a total ofjust over one year , since I had the t spot test after a DAS Score of 5.2 then my DAS (only recorded every three / four months ) went down to 4.95 ( below the 5.1 limit) My DAS score has always been around the 5.1 mark either below it or above .

Luckily the last two readings ( 3 months apart and after yet another T spot test ) were 5.2 followed by a 5.39 (ESR was high that time otherwise i would still be waiting)
It did sound like there could have been funding if my DAS stayed around the 5.1 (not necessarily over), but luckily i did not have to go that route.

So it looks like it's a postcode lottery still :(

Hi Rich,

Don't know how they are going to score my DAS because enthesitis is a disease of the tendon attachments to the bone rather than to the joints themselves. I expect I will find out Thursday when I see Rheumy Consultant
